Aspire Medical Staffing is seeking an inpatient Pharmacy Technician to provide services at the New Mexico VA Health System.

Location: New Mexico VA Health System, Albuquerque, NM at 1501 San Pedro Dr. SE

Schedule: 40 hours a week. Pharmacy services are operational 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days a year. The pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are subject to varying work hours depending on staffing needs. Work hours may consist of the following 8-12 hr. tours with a minimum of a 12-hour rest period between shifts.

Period of Performance:
Base: 3/4/2025 - 3/3/2026
Option 1: 3/4/2026 - 3/3/2027
Option 2: 3/4/2027 - 3/3/2028

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program
• License: Must hold a CPT technician certification license. PTCB is also required
• Experience: 1 year of experience as an inpatient pharmacy technician with an emphasis on sterile IV compounding
• Certification: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
• Must be a US Citizen

Duties

• Prepares and dispenses medications to include sterile compounded products and maintains related records for patients.
• Prepares, packages, labels and distributes medication doses prescribed by Physician
• Maintains inventories of drugs and supplies, stocking shelves, rotating stock, and checking expiration date of pharmaceuticals;
• Fills/stocks medications in various automated devices; documenting lot and expiration date into computerized logs.
