General Surgery Physician Associate Needed for Locum Tenens Coverage at Facility in Asheville, North Carolina

A hospital is seeking a general surgeon for locum tenens coverage.
Asheville, NC, offers a plethora of exciting activities, from exploring the Biltmore Estate, a historic marvel with breathtaking gardens and architecture, to indulging in the vibrant arts scene in the River Arts District. Visitors can also enjoy outdoor adventures like hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway or experiencing the local food and craft beer scene in downtown Asheville.
Candidates must hold an active North Carolina license and NC DEA. The assignment (PAWS 108814) runs from July 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025, with both full-time and part-time scheduling options availableeither three 12-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is primarily a non-operative role involving rounding on pre- and post-operative patients, assisting with new consults, facilitating care, and potentially helping in post-op clinic. Youll work alongside one attending surgeon and two residents (PGY 4/5 and PGY 1/2). The EMR is Cerner PowerChart, and ideal candidates will have experience managing acute surgical conditions such as abdominal pain, appendicitis, gallbladder disease, bowel obstruction, hernias, diverticulitis, pancreatitis, perforated viscus, and soft tissue infections.
