A client of TGC Search is confidentially looking for a Manager, Sales Operations - Commercial Finance with experience in Sales Operations in the NYC/NJ Metro Area

Are you a numbers-driven finance professional looking to make an impact on revenue growth in a fast-paced, brand-driven CPG company? This is your opportunity to join a highly collaborative, high-energy team managing a sizable national trade and promotions budget across multiple brands and retail partners.

Youll work closely with commercial and finance leaders to improve visibility and accountability around trade spend and planning. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems with data, is fluent in Excel, and has a strong grasp of how trade promotions affect the P&L.

This role has a hybrid schedule

Success in this role requires:

  • Strong understanding of P&L and prior experience managing a marketing or sales budget
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial tracking
  • Strong stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration
  • Expert-level Excel proficiency

Key Responsibilities:

Own and maintain customer-level trade promotion tracking and budget alignment

Monitor trade spend, synthesize data from multiple sources, and report on budget health, including forecast and actual variance analysis

Deliver forecast vs. actual variance reporting and identify budget risks or inefficiencies

Partner cross-functionally with Sales and Finance to ensure spend accuracy and alignment

Lead improvements in trade tracking templates, processes, and reporting

Assist in annual planning cycles and support audits and compliance needs

Build dashboards and tools using Excel and Power BI to support data-driven decisions

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or similar

46 years of experience in trade finance, FP&A, sales finance, or commercial planning

Strong understanding of trade investments and their impact on financials

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, dynamic models, nested formulas); Power BI or Tableau experience is a plus

Exceptional attention to detail, data integrity, and organizational skills

Comfortable communicating with non-finance stakeholders and adapting to shifting priorities

Experience in CPG, retail, or food & beverage industries is preferred
