Associate Counsel, Risk & Compliance Columbus Blue Jackets - 3.7 Columbus, OH Job Details Estimated: $132K - $186K a year 13 hours ago Qualifications Microsoft PowerPoint Microsoft Word Workers' compensation law Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook Law Mid-level 3 years Litigation Risk management SharePoint Intellectual property law Law office Computer skills Full Job Description Summary This role will provide a wide range of legal support to the Columbus Blue Jackets and Nationwide Arena, including overseeing all aspects of risk management, managing insurance programs through renewals and claims administration, providing support for litigation and disputes, and implementing and monitoring compliance with policies and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Evaluate and identify areas of risk exposure and assess levels of insurance coverage; provide recommendations regarding risk management and insurance programs; coordinate annual insurance renewal. Manage and administer claims related to premise liability incidents, employment, workers compensation, and other disputes; provide support or otherwise manage litigation matters. Review provisions in a wide variety of contracts, as well as liability waivers, regarding risk exposure and insurance, and provide recommendations for appropriate level of insurance coverage, limits of liability, indemnity, etc.; ensure compliance and recordkeeping of certificates of insurance and waivers. Oversee intellectual property portfolio, coordinating timely renewals and registrations, and engage in appropriate enforcement actions as necessary. Develop, implement, and manage systems to ensure compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, and governance, including NHL rules and requirements. Perform necessary administrative tasks including complying with filing guidelines and instructions, document retention and destruction, scheduling meetings, expense reporting, scanning/copying, etc. Education and/or Experience Law degree from an accredited university; barred (or eligible to be) in the State of Ohio; 3-7+ years as a practicing attorney with preference for those with experience at a law firm and experience in risk management, insurance, compliance, litigation or other related legal industries.
