Job Description

Job Title: Shipping Clerk

Report to: Shipping Supervisor

Location: East Plant

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Truck billing, scanning loads, preparing loads for shipments, cycle counts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for 5S

Complete BOL's either by using an RF scanner or filling out a Manual BOL

Greet drivers at the driver's window and check paperwork to verify delivery location

Communicate to dock drivers of trailers that need a dock door to be off-loaded

Communicate to dock drivers if they are reloading

Mark product if there are any discrepancies or quality issues

Get counts on empty returnable totes that are shipped out LTL

Update board with truck/trailer/dock info

Any other duties assigned by team leader, supervisor or manager

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:

Excellent verbal & written communications skills

Self-starter

Ability to multitask

Organizational skills

Previous office experience preferred

Capable of learning various software

High School Diploma

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Lifting & Carrying: Able to lift up to 50 lbs and move materials.

Standing/Walking: Long periods of standing or walking.

Manual Dexterity: Using tools like pallet jacks, and handling packages.

Stamina: Endurance for extended physical activity.

Vision: Clear vision for reading labels and inspecting items.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in shipments and documentation.

Organization: Managing inventory and shipping schedules.

Problem-Solving: Addressing shipping or inventory issues.

Time Management: Meeting tight deadlines.

Communication: Clear interaction with team members and customers.
