Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Special Education Teacher to join our K–8 charter school in the Northwest Valley. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs through inclusive practices, individualized instruction, and a collaborative team approach. This is a full-time position serving a range of grade levels (K–8) in a supportive, innovative, and student-centered learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with staff and families.
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the academic, social, and emotional needs of students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and provide modifications/accommodations.
- Conduct assessments and progress monitoring to inform instruction and ensure IEP compliance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, parent conferences, and professional development.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and safe classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence.
- Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and service providers to ensure holistic student support.
Qualifications:
- Valid Arizona Special Education Certification (or ability to obtain).
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and evidence-based instructional strategies.
- Experience with K–8 students preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in a charter or public school setting.
- Familiarity with co-teaching models and inclusive practices.
- Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
