Job Description
Graham Media Group in Market No. 15 Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne is looking for a Multi-Platform Executive Producer to join the high-performing team at WKMG News 6! This is a skilled and ambitious newsroom leader who can execute high-quality local journalism content that appears aligned across TV, digital, and connected TV/streaming platforms -- and coach teammates to do the same.
Frankly, this is an incredibly rare and exciting twist on your typical executive producer role in local news! Its ideal for hyper-creative visual communicators who are exceptional at showcasing content and love having control of how that content plays and interacts in not one, but multiple spaces. And youll get to help shape how an entire channel is executed, from the strategies we use to the workflows we create to make it happen.
The best candidates are also motivated to improve lives in the communities we cover for the better through local reporting that informs, protects, and holds people accountable. And they bring energy and drive to a committed team whose goals include growing share of audience, growing the stations brand, and growing the overall impact News 6 has on Central Florida.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Success in this role is measured by 3 things: how well you can showcase news content authentically while maximizing audience engagement, how well you distribute that content to maximize its reach, and how well you can lead others to execute this work.
This Multi-Platform Executive Producer must focus on the performance of all 3 platforms each day, including a market-leading 11pm newscast and ClickOrlando.com, which has one of the largest news website audiences in the market. They will also partner with the News Director, Managers of Content and Coverage, Digital EP, and other Multi-Platform EPs to plan and program the 24-hour News 6+ Stream, essentially steering the direction of a channel that seeks to dominate local streaming offerings.
In addition, the Multi-Platform EP will have two streaming-specific producers as direct reports, and they will also help oversee digital producers, TV producers, and other teammates on the same daypart shift.

- Ensure that digital reporting, digital videos, and digital articles are executed consistently and in ways that drive audience engagement; you can also write and publish as necessary.

- Curate and update the local content on the stream and help develop new workflows to better serve viewers and their changing viewing behaviors.
- Stay abreast of corporate and industry technological advancements and changes in streaming, ensuring the best user experience.
- On occasion, host live news updates yourself on the stream this is rare, when no reporters or anchors are available.
- Other related duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Tangible experience in growing digital engagement, as well as size of streaming audience on a news-focused platform.
- Experience executing strategy on YouTube and growing those audiences authentically without cheap gimmicks or clickbait
- Strong leadership and team-building skills: ability to onboard, train, coach and collaborate
- Exceptional writing, copy-editing, and video editing skills, with a special focus on storytelling that captivates and retains viewers.
- Strong tech IQ that allows you to learn new tech quickly and adapt it to meet the rapidly changing behaviors of News 6 users. Can also help maintain streaming system functionality.
