Research Scientist/ Senior Postdoc in Innate Immunity/ Immunology and host-pathogen interactions

EMPLOYER: Laboratory of Dr. Juhi Bagaitkar, Center for Microbial Pathogenesis at Nationwide Childrens Hospital (NCH) and The Ohio State University.

LOCATION: Columbus, Ohio, USA

SALARY: $70,000 to $85,000 per year with full benefits package

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates should have demonstrated research productivity during their MD, PhD, or MD/PhD period and have significant experience in standard laboratory techniques (including flow cytometry, tissue culture, blood cell isolation, western blots, and knockout/transgenic mouse models of autoimmunity). Basic computational skills to analyze and interpret RNA sequencing and multi-dimensional flow cytometry data would be a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, including the ability to handle a variety of tasks, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.

RESEARCH DESCRIPTION :

Postdoctoral research positions are available for highly motivated candidates to investigate neutrophil subsets and the development of autoimmune inflammation in murine models of autoimmunity. The study aims to: 1) identify novel regulators of neutrophilic inflammation; 2) determine how neutrophils modulate T/B cells responses in inflammation; 3) establish connections to human diseases, including chronic granulomatous disease, lupus, and/or IBD when neutrophil responses are dysregulated.
