Compounding Pharmacy Technician

The IV Compounding Pharmacy Technician is responsible for mixing intravenous and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques. This role requires adherence to all documented instructions, warnings, procedures, and best practices to ensure safe and effective drug preparation. The technician performs environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing, and other activities as required by federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, pulling, counting, and tracking drug items in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Enter home medication lists and lab results into CPR+ for the patient's profile when available.
  • Clean ante-room and clean room according to USP-797 standards and maintain clean room logs.
  • Verify lot numbers and perform periodic checks in inventory.
  • Successfully complete a competency verification plan upon hire and annually thereafter to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning company proprietary information and patient/client care in compliance with federal and state laws regarding protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI) following HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Must have compounding experience of some kind
  • Must be certified
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.
