Director of Pharmacy
Job Specifics and Requirements:
Area: Kern County, CA
Education: Pharm. D.
License: Must have an active, in good standing California State Pharmacist License
Experience Needed: 1-3 years of experience in a leadership role, particularly in a pharmacy setting required, 1-3 years related pharmacy experience in an Inpatient or Rehab environment highly preferred. Infusion clinic experience preferred. Need solid experience on Policy & Procedures (crosswalk), Regulatory/Compliance, Bluesight, MERP, ASP, P&T, Pharmacy Chargemaster. 340b experience is needed.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Pay: $80.00+
Background/ Drug Requirements: Ability to successfully complete background check, health and drug screen
Director of Pharmacy
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all aspects of pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Develop and implement strategic plans to improve pharmacy services, efficiency, and patient care
• Lead and mentor a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and medication safety
• Manage pharmacy budget, including inventory control, purchasing, and financial reporting
• Implement and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure accuracy and safety in medication dispensing
• Stay current with advancements in pharmaceutical practices and technologies, incorporating new methodologies as appropriate
• Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical representatives
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of pharmacy information systems and technology
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications, including controlled substances
• Participate in hospital committees and initiatives related to medication use and patient safety
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for pharmacy operations
• Monitor and analyze pharmacy performance metrics, implementing improvements as needed
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards
• Manage risk and implement strategies to minimize medication errors and adverse events
• Oversee continuing education and professional development programs for pharmacy staff
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize medication-related processes and workflows
• Participate in research initiatives and clinical trials as appropriate
• Represent the pharmacy department in organizational meetings and external professional forums
