Job Title: Facilities Operations Manager Department: Student Life | Building and Mechanical Services

Job Description
Responsible for all daily operations management activities related to the facilities maintenance services in The Office of Student Life buildings
(approximately 6.2 M gross square feet) and serves as the customer and stakeholders single point of contact for the daily facilities related work. Oversees
direct delivery of all maintenance services in assigned buildings and grounds, supervises managers who are responsible for leading the teams of staff
responsible for maintaining the assigned buildings. Coordinates and advocates for facility needs related to Student Life buildings (capital, security, health and safety, utilities, inventory, equipment, etc.). Responsible for customer service and other facilities management support functions. Meets regularly with building contacts and is responsible for ensuring that operation is meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Trains, develops, and supervises shop staff; fosters relationships with others to provide planning, scheduling, and supervision; performs highly skilled duties; coordinates & directs contractors & shop personnel; other related duties as assigned. Ensures environmental sustainability initiatives are integrated into all facilities operations. Reports to Sr. Associate Director for Student Life Facilities; primarily works on first shift, but is subject to changes in shift, hours, days, and/or location as operations dictate; In accordance with the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17 this position has been designated as an Esssential position.
Knowledge of principles within body of formal knowledge or in-depth knowledge across multiple work areas. Participates in the development of policies and
procedures to achieve specific goals. Uses judgment, evaluation and interpretation to help others select the right course of action. Impact is typically on
medium-term (1-2 year) goals; translates goals into operational activities and guides their execution. Develops and manages initiatives to deliver results.
Interacts with peers, individual contributors, and stakeholders to discuss and resolve operational matters. May influence or explain to other outside of
immediate area policies, practices, and procedures to gain cooperation.
Works closely with Service2Facilities, ensuring customer needs are met. Maintains open communication with responsible parties, and provides updated daily activity logs. Typical schedule is 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Hours and days may vary, due to scheduling needs, but coverage generally includes typcial "1st shift"
hours. Must be available 24/7 for emergencies or as operations dictate.

Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; 5 years of relevant experience in building maintenance, custodial and/or grounds and operations, including direct customer contact (preferably in unionized setting); proven teaming, leadership and customer service skills and experience; valid Driver's License.

Desired: 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred; 2 years of experience leading or supervising building maintenance, custodial and/or grounds teams; technical experience working as a maintenance mechanic, building operation trade worker, custodian, or groundskeeper.

Compensation

The targeted pay range for this position is $88,300 - $115,350.
