Maury County Animal Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinarian to join our team. This flexible, part-time role (30 hours/week) offers a full benefits package, paid holidays, and vacation—providing the work-life balance you deserve.

Position Overview:

As a shelter Veterinarian, you will provide medical care to animals in custody, foster, or recently adopted. You will perform high-volume spay/neuter surgeries and ensure humane treatment for all animals. This is a critical role in supporting the health, well-being, and adoption readiness of our shelter population.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct intake exams and ongoing medical care for shelter animals.

Perform high-volume spay/neuter and other necessary surgeries.

Provide emergency care and humane euthanasia when needed.

Maintain accurate medical records and inventory.

Train and guide shelter staff and veterinary technicians.

Engage with the public and community partners through education and clinic events.

Qualifications:

DVM or VMD from an accredited institution.

Active Tennessee veterinary license.

Valid driver’s license (Class D).

Pre-exposure rabies vaccination (or willingness to obtain).

Experience with high-volume spay/neuter and pediatric surgeries preferred.

Shelter or rescue experience a plus.
