Job Title: Events Management Specialist Department: Veterinary Medical Center | Operations

The Veterinary Medical Center (VMC) Events Management Specialist is responsible for the planning and administrative functions of in-person, continuing education (CE) events for the VMC referring veterinarian audience. The position holds all r esponsibili ty for event planning, execution, budgeting, vendor relations, and supervisory duties of event team members and presenters. The position oversees a master calendar to reflect all events and CE courses to evaluate potential conflicts , manages a reservation system for all college space utilized for CE and a registration system used by participants. The Event Management Specialist will partner with CE event sponsors in multiple locations throughout the calendar year. This position also requires communicating and partnering with various veterinary medical association (VMA) leaders throughout the event planning process, as it pertains to their specific geographic area. The Event Management Specialist will work with the VMA leaders to identify subject matter for each CE event and, in collaboration with the VMC Associate Director, Marketing and Business Development, identify and secure faculty presenters for the events. The position also entails composing and distributing email messages to referring veterinarian audiences in each VMA location pre- and post-event; building an online CE registration page for each event; coordinating with the College of Veterinary Medicine event planning team where applicable and implementing the creation of materials for each event. The Event Management Specialist will also be responsible for coordinating travel and providing transportation for faculty presenters and VMC leadership team members, as needed. On-location set up/closing of each CE event, in partnership with the sponsor, is also required of this position. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring all CE event files and certificate records are up-to-date and saved for potential auditing purposes. The position also requires collaboration with the VMC Associate Director, Marketing and Business Development to coordinate the development and distribution of practitioner-focused marketing materials and messaging, and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
