Senior Accountant with real estate or construction industry experience preferred- This position will be on the Controller track to advance.

The Role

We're seeking a hands-on, growth-minded Senior Accountant who's ready to take ownership and evolve into a Controller role. This position offers direct exposure to company leadership, visibility across multiple business lines, and the opportunity to help shape scalable financial processes as we grow. You'll be instrumental in daily accounting operations and long-term financial strategy development.

Key Responsibilities

For the Construction Entity:

Prepare and run monthly P&L statements for drywall and trades subsidiaries

Perform bank reconciliations and manage the general ledger

Handle AP/AR functions and ensure clean, accurate QuickBooks entries

Assist in AIA billing, including Schedule of Values, job costing, and T&M tracking

Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors on billing and payment schedules

For the Development Entity:

Manage low-volume, high-level financial transactions

Prepare monthly financial summaries and partner reporting

Support the CPA firm with tax preparation materials

Eventually take ownership of financial recordkeeping across all entities

What We're Looking For

5 8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with construction or real estate exposure

Advanced QuickBooks and Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formatting)

Experience with or understanding of AIA documents, T&M, and job cost accounting is a plus

Willingness to be hands-on today while growing into a leadership finance role

Entrepreneurial mindset process improvement oriented, flexible, and self-motivated

Strong communicator who can collaborate with ownership, partners, and field teams

Bonus Experience

CPA or public accounting background

Familiarity with Procore, Buildertrend, or other construction ERP tools

Experience building or scaling accounting functions
