Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior AI&T Technician to support the inspection, assembly, integration, and operational checkout of spacecraft flight hardware and associated equipment. This role involves training other technicians, developing test and operational procedures, and inspecting hardware builds. The ideal candidate is passionate about space systems, thrives in a collaborative team environment, and is eager to continuously learn and improve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, assemble, integrate, and perform checkout of spacecraft flight hardware.

  • Train and mentor other AI&T technicians.

  • Write and review test and operational procedures.

  • Inspect and verify flight hardware builds to ensure compliance with specifications.

  • Support spacecraft assembly and integration activities in cleanroom and production environments.

  • Utilize hand tools, precision tools, and test equipment to support spacecraft operations.

  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve integration challenges.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in aerospace/aviation operations.

  • Proven experience with flight hardware in a manufacturing and production environment.

  • Knowledge and application of Lean manufacturing techniques.

  • Hands-on experience fabricating flight and test harnessing.

  • Skilled in inspecting, repairing, and building flight CCA’s (circuit card assemblies).

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings and 3D models.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and precision tools.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Physical ability to lift/carry 50 lbs., climb ladders/stairs, and work in restrictive spaces.

  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc.).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to obtain a Secret or TS/SCI security clearance.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with spacecraft MLI (Multi-Layer Insulation) blanket installation and modification.

  • A&P License.

  • IPC & J-STD Certifications.

  • 2-Year Technical Degree.

  • Experience with space vehicle bus or payload integration.

  • Electrical troubleshooting proficiency.

  • Experience mixing/applying adhesives, epoxies, and coatings.

  • Forklift and overhead crane operations experience.
