Job Description
Diesel Mechanic (2nd Shift 4pm-4am) - Waxahachie, Texas
Waste Connections | $25-$30/hr | Full-Time + OT + Benefits
Join Waste Connections as a Diesel Mechanic and keep our fleet running strong! We're hiring experienced techs to perform maintenance and repairs on garbage trucks-covering everything from hydraulics and electrical to engine systems. This is a hands-on, outdoor role for someone who takes pride in their work and values safety.
? What We Offer:
$25.00-$30.00/hour based on experience Estimated at $72,000.00-$98.000.00 Per Year
$150/month tool allowance + annual boot stipend
Full benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K match, Life Insurance)
Consistent hours: 50-60 hrs/week, Mon-Fri + some Saturdays
Year-round stability + safety-first culture
? What You'll Do:
Perform preventative maintenance & inspections
Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and engine issues
Handle on-road breakdowns and emergency calls
Keep shop clean, organized, and safe
Accurately document all work performed
? Requirements:
3+ years of diesel or heavy truck experience
Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
ASE cert and CDL (A or B) a strong plus
Reliable, hard-working, and safety-minded
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
