We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized HR Payroll Specialist to manage and execute payroll functions with precision and confidentiality. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll, supporting HR initiatives, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing:

Accurately prepare, process, and review bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Data Management:

Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, garnishments, and deductions.

Compliance & Audits:

Ensure payroll procedures adhere to relevant laws and internal controls. Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.

Reporting:

Generate payroll-related reports, such as wage summaries, tax filings, and benefit deductions for internal stakeholders and external agencies.

Tax Filings:

Collaborate with third-party vendors or internal finance teams to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and filings (W-2s, 941s, etc.).

Issue Resolution:

Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management, resolving discrepancies or concerns in a timely and professional manner.

HR Collaboration:

Support HR operations by assisting with onboarding, benefits administration, and employee data maintenance in HRIS systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent work experience)

2-4 years of experience in payroll processing or HR support roles

Strong understanding of payroll systems and federal/state wage and hour laws

Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)

Exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Experience with ADP, Paycom, or similar platforms is a plus

Preferred Skills

FPC or CPP certification (a plus)

Experience working in a multi-state payroll environment

Familiarity with HRIS systems and benefits administration
