A facility is seeking an OB/GYN for locum tenens coverage.

The facility is located in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

This position involves 24-hour shifts with hospitalists providing emergent GYN coverage and first assist support, including performing circumcisions. Hospitalists will not back up midwives or family practice but will have backup available when needed. The hospital has a Level III NICU and averages 84 deliveries per month, with hospitalists handling about 26 of those. Hospitalists also have around 266 patient encounters monthly, not including deliveries. Maternal-fetal medicine cases are referred to Morgantown or Winchester. There is a family medicine residency program at Jefferson Medical Center, with opportunities for FMOBs to practice and for residents to rotate at this hospital. In-house anesthesia is available, and the facility uses EPIC for its electronic medical records.
