We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mixed or Small Animal Veterinarian (DVM) to join our growing team in Wakefield, RI. We are looking for a passionate veterinarian who enjoys working with both small and/or mixed animal patients, providing high-quality care in a collaborative and community-focused environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide comprehensive veterinary care to both small and mixed animal patients, including diagnostics, treatment, and preventive care (wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite control).
- Surgical Expertise: Perform routine surgeries (spays, neuters, dental cleanings, etc.) as well as more advanced procedures, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Diagnostic Services: Utilize diagnostic tools such as digital radiography, ultrasound, and laboratory testing to accurately diagnose and treat a variety of conditions.
- Client Communication: Educate pet owners on their pets’ health, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies. Build lasting relationships with clients through compassionate and clear communication.
- Emergency and Critical Care: Provide emergency care as needed, including making quick and informed decisions in urgent situations to ensure the health of the patients.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with veterinary technicians, support staff, and other veterinarians to provide high-quality patient care and a seamless client experience.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients in accordance with clinic protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Professional Development: Stay current with veterinary best practices and advancements in the field through continuing education and involvement in professional organizations.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in Rhode Island (or the ability to obtain one).
- Experience working with both small and mixed animal species is preferred.
- Expertise in small animal medicine and surgery, with a willingness to expand knowledge in large animal care if needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Compassionate and professional with a strong commitment to the well-being of animals and the satisfaction of their owners.
