The Human Resources Specialist supports the districts mission by delivering essential humanresource services with a focus on employee lifecycle management, compliance, and staff support. This rolecollaborates with administrators, staff, and external partners to ensure effective recruitment, onboarding, personnelrecords management, and adherence to district policies and employment laws. The Human Resources Specialist mustpossess a customer service mindset with a collaborative, solutions-focused approach that supports the success andwell-being of all employees.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates sound judgement and emotional stability. Maintains a positive attitude and works well with others. Ensures the safety of students. Interacts with staff, students and the community in a positive and respectful manner. Is proactive in developing an understanding of District policy, State and Federal Law and collective bargainingagreement language related to human resource functions. Prepares Human Resources agenda for Board of Education meetings. Responsible for board agenda data andprocessing. Serves as point of contact and manages licensure/permit issuance and renewals. Tracks and processes employee FBI background check requirements. Creates and manages job descriptions and job postings. Effectively maintains and utilizes human resource management systems such as Frontline Recruiting and Hiring,Frontline Absence Management, and SC Strategic Solutions Suite. Oversees new hire pre-boarding (i.e. welcome emails, background checks, Rapback, I-9s, payroll packet distribution,emails/account creation). Participates in the development of agendas and communicating employment information during new hire meetings. Audits experience verifications and university transcripts, as required. Manages hiring and processes contracts for staff employed through the Educational Service Center of CentralOhio (ESC). Maintains all employment data for district personnel and contracted employees. Creates and distributes seniority lists. Identifies employees eligible for service awards. Processes public records requests in a timely manner. Tracks employee contract eligibility and distributes required notifications. Board approves, creates anddistributes contracts as required. Manages staff evaluation notifications and tracking. Maintains an accurate and accessible database of staffing assignments throughout the district. Tracks district employee headcount and FTEs including position postings and fills. Completes annual SERB report. Maintains respect at all times for confidential information. Serves as a backup for other Human Resources staff to allow for continuity of services and support in the departmentduring absences and high-volume work times. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Certified Specialist: Manages life cycle for all certified, coaching, addendum and contracted employees. Processes Degree Allowance forms. Manages Frontline Recruiting and Hiring and SC Strategic Solutions Suite. Audits federal loan forgiveness requests.Classified Specialist: Manages life cycle for all classified and substitute employees. Manages daily substitute coverage and the Absence Management system. Processes payroll reconciliations for ESC employees.
