Chairside Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet patients, escort them to the treatment room, gather patient information and health background; verify that health history and other required forms are up to date
- Perform 4-handed dentistry: Assisting dentist by handing him instruments and equipment, taking notes when needed, charting as needed
- Take digital X-rays (with X-ray certification)
- Prepare materials for crowns or dental impressions; 3D scanning
- Provide patient care and support during dental procedures; educate patients on post-treatment care
- Prepare/clean work areas; prepare instrument trays; clean/sterilize instruments and maintain sterilation area
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Our preferred candidate is a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) currently certified in the state of Michigan.
- Willingness and ability to be a strong team member and display a positive attitude: ability to maintain outgoing, friendly, compassionate attitude with patients and staff under pressure
- Ability to work with interruptions, manage multiple priorities well, be flexible with change
- Follows direction of dentist, but is self-motivated and anticipates dentist and patient needs
- Must maintain OSHA, HIPAA and BLS (CPR) certifications
- Prior experience assisting in a chart-less office is a plus
