What happens when I receive an offer for a freelance job?
When an employer sends you an offer, you’ll receive an email notification (or text, if opted into SMS), and you will also see the opportunity under “Offer Received” in your Job Tracker.
You will now see the company name – it is no longer confidential.
When you click “Review Offer,” you’ll see all milestones – the deliverable(s) the employer is asking for and when they are due. You’ll also see an offer summary with the total payment you will receive upon completion.
Click “Accept Offer” to move forward with the project.
Once you’ve accepted, you’ll see the full agreement under the “Active” tab in your Job Tracker. The agreement is a legally binding arrangement created when you accept an offer, formalizing project scope, milestones, and deliverables, and payment structure.
Congrats, you’re now ready to get to work and begin your first milestone!
If you do not accept the offer (select “Decline Offer” when reviewing the offer), the employer will be notified, no agreement is made, and no project begins.
