In this month’s Business Spotlight, we spoke with Ginny Chase, Human Resources Director at Westminster Communities of Florida. Westminster’s mission is to serve older adults, by providing beautiful and quality environments to enhance lifestyles at every level of independence. They are a leader in senior living, serving more than 7,000 residents in 22 communities throughout Florida. That makes them the largest senior living company in the state and the 10th largest in the nation.

A company as large as Westminster can have its challenges when it comes to finding highly qualified candidates, so Chase leverages iHire’s Job Wrap to automate job posts. iHire: What makes Westminster Communities of Florida a great place to work?  

GC: We put a smile on the face of each of our residents every single day. Everything we do, and every interaction is for the people who call Westminster home. At each community, team members get to know the residents and hear their stories. It’s such a rewarding place to work.

 

iHire: What are your responsibilities at Westminster?  

GC: I work with field HR team members to assist with talent acquisition strategies, such as increasing candidate flow and implementing new technologies to enhance the recruiting and onboarding processes.  I also perform market analyses pertaining to compensation and implement compensation strategies across the organization.

 

iHire: What are your biggest hiring challenges?  

GC: Some of our hiring challenges have included applicant flow, especially since the pandemic started in early 2020.

 

iHire: How do you hope iHire will help you with those challenges?   

GC: We hope that iHire will help us reach potential candidates that we haven’t been able to reach with existing advertising sources. As a result, we are expecting an overall increase in applicant flow.

 

iHire: What advice would you give to other hiring managers looking to find the right candidates?   

GC: My advice is to keep searching for unique ways to source candidates. Also, make sure you are placing your brand out there so candidates can learn about your organization and apply for your jobs.
