We are hiring a skilled Maintenance Technician to provide mechanical and equipment support at our manufacturing facility. This contract position supports weekend overnight operations and offers the potential for long-term employment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively in a production-driven environment.

Available Shifts:

  • Friday–Sunday 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Monday - Friday 9PM - 5:30 AM

Weekend technicians will work 36 hours and receive pay for a full 40-hour workweek.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring manufacturing equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial setting while strictly adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repair

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and equipment failures affecting production.
  • Service and maintain presses, gearboxes, A/C motors, roll forming equipment, resistance welders, and related machinery.
  • Support tooling and equipment changeovers, including welders, mills, punch machines, and rooftop press systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and recommend improvements to maintenance programs.
  • Replace components, fluids, and wear parts; verify proper operation after repairs.
  • Identify and communicate required spare parts and supplies.

Operational Support

  • Communicate daily maintenance activity and equipment status to supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and maintenance documentation.
  • Conduct inspections using SOPs, manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Respond promptly to equipment issues and production line interruptions.
  • Utilize basic HMI knowledge to assist with troubleshooting.
  • Operate propane-powered forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
  • Perform general facility and building maintenance as assigned.

Collaboration & Improvement

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and suggest process enhancements.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of maintenance team members.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a team-first approach to daily operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing industrial or manufacturing equipment.
  • Hands-on background with presses, mills, and welding equipment.
  • Working knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic familiarity with PLCs and their function.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
  • Strong attendance record with proven reliability and accountability.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and similar tools.
  • Ability to read, write, and navigate digital maintenance systems.
