JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Secretary - 219 Day
Location: Greensview Elementary School and Windermere Elementary School
Time Schedule: 30 hrs/week
Reports to: Building Principal
Employment Status: Regular/Full-time
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Salary Range: $23.21 - $25.77 p/hour
Description: Under general direction is responsible for performing a variety of complex and confidential secretarial duties including policy interpretation within narrow program areas for Program Directors. Coordinate office and other activities for the betterment of students, instructional staff, support staff as well parents and members of the community,

Probationary Period: 120 Days

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three years related experience

Essential Functions:
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of security measures to ensure safety of students, staff and school community members
  • Explains program policies and procedures to various audiences
  • Assist supervisor with clerical functions
  • Maintain efficient flow of written and verbal communication through office
  • Communicate information to public staff and students as appropriate
  • Responsible for performing a variety of complex and confidential secretarial duties
  • Performs routine checking for accuracy of work
  • Receives, unpacks, and verifies and records orders of incoming shipments and goods and materials
  • Prepares various reports as requested by supervisor
  • Maintains records of activities for department
  • Acts as supervisor liaison with public, school officials, and representatives of various institutions
  • Provide information and direct phone calls and visitors to proper place/person in school/program
  • Receive, screen, route or reply to all mail and email communications as appropriate
  • Maintains departmental flow of information including but not limited to website and other social media avenues
  • Schedule appointments and maintain calendars for meetings, conferences and building use
  • Coordinate a variety of office functions and communications; prepare and accurately maintain a variety of reports, records and files related to students, staff, operations and activities
  • Attend meetings and in-services as required
  • Receive and account for all monies collected in conjunction with fundraising and other school/program activities; maintain financial records, invoicing and billings.
  • Assist with building purchase order process including requisitions, supply and inventory
  • Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy
  • Maintain respect at all times for confidential information
  • Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents
  • Promote good public relations

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Respond to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner
  • Prepare supply, material, and equipment requisitions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
