University of Memphis
Focus on revenue generation. Provide an on-campus and online program (identical requirements and diplomas) On campus program provides opportunities of a metropolitan marketplace with professional and collegiate sports teams. On campus students may transition to online program when opportunities arise elsewhere. Online program designed for the working professional or those already with a sport organization. All online instructors have doctorate degree and experience in online instruction.
The primary focus of the University of Memphis Sport Commerce program is revenue generation, and the U of M offers an online and on-campus program. While the online degree program offers flexibility, the on-campus program offers students opportunities to thrive within a metropolitan marketplace with potential opportunities in professional and college sports, as well as facilities and community-based programs. Students who start in the on-campus program are encouraged to build and develop their skills and resume, and if offered an opportunity outside the area, have the freedom to transition to the online program.
Unlike many online programs, our faculty administer and instruct all required courses within the online program. Any adjuncts for elective classes are required to maintain graduate faculty status, which includes a PhD and affiliation with a university. Moreover, the online program is designed for the working professional and for those who already have been placed within the sport industry. We highly encourage those not currently with some type of sport organization to come to the great city of Memphis and to be part of our on campus program instead of choosing our online program (or any online program). We believe that experience is that important.
