Accountant ( Hybrid )

Position Overview

Agriculture (AgFed) Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced and detailed-oriented Accountant to join our team. This position is responsible for multiple accounting functions involved in daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual processes, and reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer while collaborating closely with other members of the Accounting Department. Some key areas of responsibility include:

• Coordinate the processing of fixed assets and prepaids for the credit union using the Bassets eDepreciation program.
• Coordinate the bookkeeping for the credit union’s investment portfolio.
• Operate the processing of monthly loan origination fees for various third-party loan products, including first mortgages, second mortgages, and HELOCs.
• Coordinate the bookkeeping of commercial loan participations the credit union has with various financial institutions.
• Participate in the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for management and the Board of Directors.
• Participate in the preparation of the quarterly NCUA 5300 Call Report.
• Participate in the gathering of information for the quarterly ALM review.
• Support the CFO with the preparation of the monthly CECL analysis.
• Coordinate the completion of the annual DC personal property tax return with the credit union’s internal auditing firm.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred. Candidates with equivalent experience are also welcome.
• Minimum of three years of related accounting experience within the credit union industry is preferred.

Requirements

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Excel.
• Knowledge of Jack Henry Episys/Symitar, Bassets eDepreciation, and Profitstar preferred.
