Estimator (Hybrid/Remote)

Are you a SME in Nuclear Construction Estimating? Have you mastered your estimating skills and would find it rewarding to train the next upcoming estimating professionals? If so, we are interested in getting to know you for a REMOTE (with Site Travel needed) SME Estimator position with Matrix PMO. 

This is a 12 month contract role with management responsibilities. Role is available to start immediately. Work schedule is 4/10s. Per Diem eligible. 

What you will be doing: 

• Create estimates in WinEst using a common template
• Work with Project Manager/Team to advance projects to the next estimate level
• Perform estimate analysis to track evolution and accuracy of project costs
• Work with cost analyst to build initial forecast in PMM once Class 5 estimate is complete
• Work with scheduler to build initial schedule in P6 once Class 5 estimate is complete
• Provide development basis of estimate including assumptions and estimate uncertainty
• Train Entergy Estimates on best practices and WinEst
• Reviews drawings and technical documents.
• Review schedules and performs material take-offs in order to develop a cost estimate to complete project work.
• Perform primarily office and non-manual work.
• Perform work related to the management or general business operations of MATRIX or its customers/clients, while exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance to MATRIX and its customers/clients.
• Interface with managers or head of a unit/department requiring the integration of multiple functional organizations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and guidelines: promote health and safety awareness consciousness, and implements all MATRIX health and safety procedures.
• Use “lessons learned” to improve quality of MATRIX’s future projects; make recommendations to MATRIX as to the implementations of future policies and procedures.

What you bring to the table:

• 15+ years of experience in power plant operations or equivalent military experience.
• Minimum of 10 years Estimator experience or equivalent military experience required.
• 6 years Nuclear experience is required- has extensive knowledge of nuclear applications.
