Job Description Summary:

Oversees the daily operations of systems and applications in the data centers, including hardware and software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. May participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

  • Monitors and maintains the data center infrastructure and systems, including servers, storage, and network equipment, and oversees the installation and decommission of devices. Reports on the physical infrastructure, including cooling, humidity, and power.
  • Runs regular inspections of facility services and monitors group workqueue to ensure the availability and reliability of data center services. Resolves or escalates issues as they arise, providing efficient and effective customer support.
  • Develops and maintains documentation of system configurations and processes.
  • Directs and mentors Data Center staff on technical aspects of their daily work. Provides leadership for small to medium projects.
  • Assists with the research and development of expansion proposals for data center hardware, software configurations, and facility projects. Designs and implements new enterprise technologies and services.

Education Requirement:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience, required.

Licensure Requirement:

Valid Ohio drivers license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Certifications:

Various IT certifications, preferred.

Skills:

  • Understanding of the business and a basic understanding of all infrastructure technologies, required.
  • Knowledge ofmaintaining and managing Windows Server operating systems, required.
  • Networking knowledge, required.
  • Basic Storage Area Network knowledge, required.
  • Understanding of Solarwinds monitoring and alerting tool, preferred.
  • Familiarity withNlyte data center infrastructure management tool, preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with all types of employees and management.
  • Ability to lead multiple small projects simultaneously while effectively meeting all deadlines and budgets.

Experience:

  • Three years of experience in enterprise IT operations and related technologies, required.
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting Cisco UCS hardware, required.
  • Experience designing and implementing data center environments including power, cooling, rack layouts, and cable management, required.
  • Experience with day-to-day virtual server managementwith VMware vSphere, required.
  • Experience with the ServiceNow IT service management solution, required.
