Job Description

Title: Track and Field, Middle School Distance, Boys and Girls

Terms of Employment: Supplemental Contract

Reports to: Athletic Director

Qualifications:

• Experience in the designated sport
• Must Meet all coaching requirements as specified by the Board of Education and OHSAA including acquiring a pupil activity permit.
• Prior coaching experience at the Middle School Level or above preferred

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise and instruct the middle school track and field team consisting of approximately 20-40 student athletes.
• Conduct regular practices with the team.
• Coach student athletes in a positive manner.
• Ensure the safety of all student athletes during practices and competitions.
• Develop practice and training plans for athletes with differing skill levels under the supervision of the Head Coach.
• Coordinates coaching methods and responsibilities with the Head Coach and other Assistant and Volunteer Coaches.
• Coaching will require six days per week including practices and contests. 15-20 hours per week is a typical time commitment for the coach.
• Supervise and travel with the team to all contests.
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or Head Varsity Track and Field Coach

Working Conditions:

• Potential exposure to blood or other bodily fluids and tissue
• Occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather
• Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see and read
• Regular requirement to lift equipment, up to 50 pounds
