General Practice Medical Director (Medical Director Veterinarian)

Introduction
Our client is a hospital seeking a Medical Director to lead their progressive and well-respected AAHA-accredited practice in Riverside, CA. This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to step into a leadership role within a supportive and collaborative environment, guiding both patient care and hospital culture.

Working Hours / Rota
This is a full-time role. The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. It is closed on Sundays.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Medical Director will oversee hospital operations, lead a team of veterinarians and support staff, and shape medical standards and protocols. Responsibilities include providing high-quality clinical care across outpatient appointments, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and wellness medicine, while also mentoring the veterinary team and fostering growth and collaboration. This role is suited to an experienced veterinarian who is ready to take on a leadership position and who values client communication, team development, and community partnerships.

Practice Details
The hospital is equipped with advanced technology including CryoSurgery, Laser Surgery, Laser Therapy, Ultrasound, Echocardiograms, Radiology, Electrocardiography, and AI-powered software for medical notes and cytology results. As an AAHA-accredited and Fear-Free certified hospital, the practice prioritizes patient comfort and low-stress handling. Services include outpatient appointments, drop-off visits, surgery, ophthalmology care, wellness exams, spay and neuter, vaccinations, dental care, microchipping, diagnostics, nutrition, senior wellness, and urgent care. The practice culture is built on collaboration, compassion, and strong community ties.

Team
The hospital has 3 DVMs supported by a skilled and compassionate team, alongside an experienced Practice Manager. The environment is collaborative, growth-oriented, and focused on providing both patients and clients with exceptional veterinary care.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
