Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Modify curriculum and adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
- Provide direct instruction to small groups and individuals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to support each student's growth
- Maintain accurate records of progress, accommodations, and behavior
- Utilize assistive technology and other tools to enhance learning
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Stay updated on best practices through professional development
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
- Active California Moderate/Severe Special Education Teaching Credential
- Experience with IEP development and differentiated instruction (preferred)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with special needs
