Your Role

The Legal Operations Manager will play the critical role of facilitating and supporting operations for a department of over 100 associates and will be key in identifying and pursuing opportunities to enhance existing processes and practices to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the legal team. This individual will drive the use of appropriate systems, processes, and tools to deliver legal services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. This position will report to the General Counsel and will work closely with the legal team at all levels, along with key business stakeholders.

Your Impact

  • Serve as administrator and liaison for VS&Cos legal e-billing system (Ascent)

  • Lead or support optimal utilization of technology by the Legal team

  • Develop or enhance core legal department processes, procedures and workflows

  • Define and drive strategic and operational initiatives

  • Improve analytical reporting with existing tools and processes

  • Troubleshoot basic equipment/systems issues before engaging technology teams

  • Oversee law firm accrual and budget review process

  • Manage reporting and analyses of legal spend

  • Manage legal knowledge subscriptions and professional association memberships

  • Track trends and collect relevant benchmarking to inform department initiatives

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including technology, finance and HR

  • Assist with the development of the legal budget and other funding requests

  • Identify and track metrics and legal operations reporting
