Job Description:
Position Summary:
Courteously and professionally greets and seats all residents and their guests in the dining room, coordinates the activities of the food servers on schedule, maintains a neat and orderly dining room, and takes responsibility for guest checks (issuing/collecting/reviewing). Keeps current on all local and state codes about food preparation, sanitation, and storage, and food allergens. Informs culinary management of food needs and residents' likes and dislikes. Takes ownership of Resident satisfaction for service. Follows HSL Cultural Beliefs.

Working knowledge of all serving and busing functions
Communicates clearly and respectfully with Residents, Staff, and Management
Capable of effectively running all aspects of a shift from start to finish in any of the three dining rooms
Ability to lead a diverse staff
Knowledge of general Host/Hostess procedures: scheduling, sections, service, set up, and side work
Maintain a genuine interest in geriatric care and follow HSL Cultural Beliefs
Position Responsibilities:
Courteously and comfortably seat Residents and their guests
Responsible for guest check control and accuracy before sending them to the Finance Department
Delegates and inspects the side work
Manages dining room reservations
Assists during the shift with Serving and Bussing as needed
Has a working knowledge of Resident dining tendencies, meal needs, and preferences
Works with Front Desk and Marketing Staff on Hospitality Table and marketing guests
Assists with the training and orientation of new dining room personnel
Acts as a Supervisor in the absence of Management or Supervisors
Assumes additional responsibilities as needed to ensure the smooth running of the dining room
Accurately completes a nightly Host/Hostess Report
Qualifications:
Able to work flexible hours and days, including weekends and holidays
High School diploma necessary
Minimum of one year of experience as a Wait Staff and Bus Staff at Orchard Cove or in an upscale hotel or restaurant
Maintain current ServSafe and Mass Food Allergen certification
Ability to pass a CORI background check and physical exam, including TB test
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in verbal or written form
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for long periods of time and to walk short distances
Frequent stooping, reaching, and lifting
Works in a clean, well-lit, and ventilated environment
Possible work hazards include: cuts, burns, slips, and falls
Follow uniform policy and good personal hygiene
4 pm-8 pm Wednesday, 4 pm-8 pm Friday, and 10 am-8 pm Saturday
