Meet iHire’s JO – Your Job Posting’s Personal Trainer

Posted: July 27, 2016

Writing a captivating and informative job ad is critical to getting quality responses. When posting a job with iHire, we want to make that process as seamless as possible. With our Job Optimizer (or, what we refer to as the “JO” around the office), we help ensure your job posting is a success.

While you’re writing your description, the JO is hard at work making sure your posting is as strong as possible. The strength of your ad is based on its length and content, and the JO’s ratings will range from “Very Weak” to “Great”.

  • To get the best click-to-apply rate, create a job posting that is 500–1,000 characters long.

  • Use a mix of short paragraphs and high-impact bullets to keep the reader interested.
  • Get in front of more candidates by including relevant and industry-specific keywords.
  • Don’t forget to mention benefits and culture! Try the S-ABC-S format: Summary, Advantages, Benefits, Culture, Sign-Off

The quantity and quality of the skills you include in your posting also play a large role in your overall score. To help, we provide you with a list of recommendations that will populate on the right-hand side of your screen.

After you’re done making edits to your description, you can get a fresh JO score by clicking the refresh button below your posting:
