Summary
Lead the structural subsystem design, analysis, and integration for modular data center platforms. Ensure structural resilience, manufacturability, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle. Collaborate across disciplines to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of scalable and safe structural solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and validation of modular units, foundations, steel/concrete structures, equipment supports, and lifting/hoisting features.
- Drive structural Basis of Design (BoD), prototypes, and template specifications for modular platforms.
- Perform structural analysis: load calculations, seismic studies, and foundation assessments.
- Manage release of civil/structural design packages, RFPs for fabrication departments, suppliers, consultants, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with MEP, mechanical, controls, and electrical teams to ensure structural integration aligns with other subsystems.
- Lead initiatives to improve cost, quality, schedule, and standardization across structural modules.
- Oversee coordination with external manufacturing partners, civil consultants, and contractors during design and construction reviews.
- Lead structural assessments, lifting/install evaluations, and compliance with local codes.
- Contribute to Product Engineering Management System (PEMS): participate in design reviews, change governance, and structural standards documentation.
Technical Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 7 years of structural engineering experience, including at least 3 years in lead roles within industrial or modular construction environments.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with NCEES registration and the ability to obtain licensure in any U.S. state.
- In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles: steel, concrete, timber design, load/stress analysis.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, Robot), and CAD tools (Revit, AutoCAD, Tekla).
- Experience designing foundations, superstructures, lifting points, enclosures, and structural supports.
- Ability to perform seismic, wind, and load case analysis for mission-critical facilities.
- Skilled in preparing and reviewing structural Technical Design Previews, BoDs, RFPs, and consultant packages.
