We are currently in search of a professional and hard-working Line Cook to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for the menu. Operating in a premium fine dining environment, the successful candidate will assist the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
To be successful as a line cook, you should be knowledgeable of various cooking techniques and have a passion for food. Ultimately, an exceptional line cook should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Ensure proper portion control and plate presentation
- Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning and execution
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
Required Skills:
- Ability to build a strong, cohesive relationship with the executive Chef and sous chef
- Knowledge of broiling, sautéing, grilling, and sauce making
- Dedicated and taking pride in your work
- Strong attention to detail and focus on food quality
- Excellent time management skills
- Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous fine dining preferred
- Successful completion of the corporate training program is required
Salary and Benefits:
- Minimum Salary: $17.00 / hr.
- Maximum Salary: $25.00 / hr.
- Health insurance, vacation leave, and closed on Sundays
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
