What You’ll Need to Join the Team

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in connection with caring for children
  • Completion of all state-required pre-service training

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Maryland 90-Hour Preschool Certification or CDA
  • 1–2 years of experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
  • Strong communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues
  • A passion for nurturing, guiding, and teaching young children

 

What You’ll Do as a Lead Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

Curriculum & Instruction

  • Implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans
  • Use creative teaching methods to inspire a love of learning
  • Observe and assess children's progress and adjust activities as needed

Classroom Management

  • Create a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Guide behavior with positive strategies
  • Manage routines and transitions smoothly

Family Communication

  • Keep parents informed with daily updates and open communication
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences
  • Encourage parent involvement in classroom and school activities

Health & Safety

  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the classroom
  • Supervise children indoors and outdoors to ensure their safety
  • Follow all health and safety procedures

Professional Growth

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to share ideas and strategies
  • Stay current on best practices in early childhood education
