We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team. This role is pivotal in facilitating HR processes across our organization, including onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities
- Onboarding & Orientation: Coordinate new hire onboarding, prepare offer letters, process background checks, and schedule orientations.
- Record Management: Complete I-9 verification, maintain personnel files, and ensure data accuracy for new hires in HRIS systems.
- Employee Support: Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR processes, benefits, and general questions.
- Benefits Administration: Assist with health and welfare plan enrollments, changes, and terminations. Process payroll and insurance documents and reconcile benefits statements.
- Leave Management: Manage FMLA and other leaves of absence in compliance with federal and state guidelines.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with payroll on pay exceptions and ensure smooth communication between HR and other departments.
- Compliance & Auditing: Support audits for payroll, benefits, and other HR programs, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Recruitment Support: Track candidates in HRIS, schedule interviews, and send follow-up communications during recruitment.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 1 year of Human Resources experience within the state of California is required.
- 1 year of working in the Non-profit sector.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred:
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
- Knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS).
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must have the ability to work on a computer for extended periods.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
